A big Thanksgiving home weekend for the Varsity lads as they prepare to face the much vaunted Toronto teams – see details below.  Also, our annual Alumni weekend and Dinner is fast approaching – see all of the details below and PLEASE CONFIRM your availability for the dinner.

  • Sat. Oct. 6th vs. Ryerson . 3:15pm @ Home
  • Sun.. Oct. 7th vs. Toronto. 3:15pm @ Home

 

ALUMNI WEEKEND:
 
Alumni Weekend & Dinner: Oct. 13/14.
Our Alumni weekend is fast approaching and we have many details to share:
 
Saturday October 13th:
– 2:00pm Tail-Gate
– 3:15pm Varsity vs. Trent
– 6:15pm Dinner Hall Doors Open (83 Main St, Ottawa ON K1S 1B5 – Basement Church Hall)
– 7:00pm Dinner Served ($25/each for Roast Beef Buffet from Hoefler Catering)
*Followed by the traditional festivities on Elgin Street, Location TBD. 
 
Again – Please Confirm your availability for the dinner so we can plan accordingly.
 
Ceremonies:
– Special Guest Speaker: Marty Lauter (85-88, 93, & Assistant Coach 94-00).
– Silent Auction.
– Mike Lanos Award
 
Sunday October 14th
– 3:15pm Varsity vs. UOIT
 
UPCOMING EVENTS:
 
Joey Leaflor Cup:
– Sun, Oct. 28th
– 3:00pm. @ Carleton University.
– Annual game of Carleton Alumni vs. Algonquin Alumni in Joe Leaflors’ honour who played for both organizations prior to his passing in 2012.
OTHER:
 
ALUMNI DUES
We continue to $40 dues from each member to help cover expenses as well as provide a donation back to the Varsity team.  Please email transfer your dues and anyone participating in any of the above events must be in good standing and have your dues paid for the year. 
 
Spotlight:
See recent article on Walker Smith’s experience as a Raven Soccer player.  Great insight into a CSAA members experience as a Raven.  As you may take a moment to reflect on your own experience as a Carleton Raven Soccer player remember that importance of being a CSAA member is not how much you played on the field but the lifelong friendships and memories you created, passion and commitment you gave to your teammates and program and the internal growth you experience as a young adult.  Thanks to Walker for sharing as I am sure many of us can relate.
