Varsity Update:
The Carleton Ravens varsity men’s soccer team travelled to North Bay to face the Nipissing Lakers this past Saturday, September 13th. Word on the street is that the Ravens have returned to their roots and are rebuilding their reputation for being a tough hardnosed side that is feared for their physical approach. The northern referring was noted to be terrible and there were 10 yellow cards given in the match – 7 “awarded” to our Ravens! Local Ottawa lad, Marco Pozzi, got the lone goal for Carleton off a PK to secure the 1-0 victory. Rookie keeper Felix Daigle earned the clean sheet in net.

On Sunday, September 14th the Ravens faced off against their old foe – the Laurentian Voyageurs in a rare match played on natural grass! Carleton went down 1-0 in the 48th minute but continued to battle and play hard. The Ravens out-shot Laurentian 10 to 5 and were finally rewarded for their hard work in the 82nd minute with a well taken goal from rookie Zef Kraja, nodding home to tie the match! The game ended in a 1-1 tie, a good result as the trip to Sudbury can be one of the toughest road trips of the year for the Ravens.

Next home game: Wednesday, September 17th @ 6:30pm.
Carleton play RMC this Wednesday @ 6:30pm
– Beverages will be on hand for all CSAA members so let’s get a good turnout to this Wednesday’s home match!
