There are many ways to become active members of the Carleton men’s soccer alumni association. Alumni are encouraged to pay their alumni dues and participate in alumni events, attend varsity games and other activities throughout the year. We also encourage alumni to volunteer for activities and to provide ideas for potential events.
Here are a few ways that alumni can get more involved and support the association:
- Volunteer for events
- Through contributions in alumni dues
- Attending varsity games
- Actively participating in events
- Submitting photos and videos for the website
- Following alumni activities on Twitter and other social media
- Alumni can support the current program by making financial donations to the Varsity team. To direct financial support to the Varsity team, click on the button below:
’82 Club – Men’s Varsity Soccer Bursary
The ’82 Club is a group of Carleton Soccer Alumni Association (CSAA) members who have taken up the challenge to donate a minimum of $100 a year for a period of five year’s towards the Men’s Varsity Soccer Bursary.
Former Chapter President and Hall of Famer – Mike Lanos founded the bursary in 1999 with the intent of supporting a Raven’s men’s soccer player with their academic expenses.
The bursary is awarded annually to students who are listed on a CIS/OUA Eligibility Certificate as a member of the Carleton University interuniversity Men’s soccer team.
In 2016 the CSAA, using matching funds from Carleton University, worked with the ’82 Club, friends and family to increase the Men’s Varsity Soccer Bursary’s endowment fund to over $75,000.
The goal of the CSAA is to grow the Bursary to $100,000 and fully support the academic needs of Ravens Soccer athletes.
In 2021 the Bursary will disburse $3,000 towards a deserving Ravens Soccer student athlete.
Membership and Financial Support
CSAA Financial Contribution:
The Carleton Soccer Alumni Association (CSAA) collects dues from its members to help support the Carleton Men’s Varsity Soccer Program by providing enhanced funding for essential team needs, such as travel, food expenses, uniforms and equipment.
With the CSAA’s support, we can help enhance the ability of our varsity teams to compete with the best in Ontario and the country, and further support our students to become outstanding athletes.
CSAA member dues also help to support alumni activities such as alumni weekend, Super Cup, indoor tournament, and other events throughout the year.
Participation in CSAA events requires that each member be in good standing, meaning they have made an annual contribution to the association.
Alumni dues have remained the same at a minimum of $40.00 (Please feel free to contribute more if you are comfortable).
Dues can be paid to any executive member (Michael Hoefler, John Legakis, Andrew Parks, Kwesi Loney) or via E-Mail money transfer to Jason Da Costa (CSAA Co-President and Treasurer).
